Kinesio Taping Method

What Is The Kinesio Taping® Method?
The Kinesio Taping® Method is a rehabilitative treatment technique in which Kinesiology tape is applied to the skin, thus triggering the body’s natural ability to heal from injury.
First, the tape lifts the skin away from injured soft tissue, promoting blood flow; and with more blood being able to get to the injury, the faster it will heal. Additionally, taping promotes lymphatic fluid drainage, thus quickly reducing swelling and inflammation of the injured area.
And with Kinesio Taping®, the range of motion is never restricted. Rather, the technique offers support and stability to muscles and joints and allows for extended soft tissue manipulation outside of the clinic, thus prolonging the benefits of clinical manual therapy.

RockTape
Here at XCEL A.R.T, we are proud to exclusively offer RockTape for this method. RockTape is constructed of 97% cotton and 3% nylon, with a hypo-allergenic, acrylic-based, and latex-free adhesive. It’s safe to wear for up to five days, and can be worn in the shower or while swimming.
Unlike other Kinesiology tape brands (which often bind with movement, rather than stretch), RockTape was engineered to meet the specialized needs of high-endurance athletes. With a stretch rate of 190% its original length, along with its recovery “snap-back,” it is versatile in its application and can be used as both a compressor to foster recovery, or as a decompressor to relieve pain and swelling.
What Conditions Will RockTape Help?
RockTape is specially designed to treat issues with:
- Rotator Cuff
- Lower Back
- Tennis Elbow
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Shin Splints
- Knee Issues
Additional treatment results are the normalization of muscle tone, the delaying or prevention of fatigue, and a more even distribution of physical stress within the body -- all together, giving rise to a level of increased mobility that serves to ultimately enhance overall athletic performance.
